In this video I have a go at answering the question: “What is the basis of human rights”? I begin by drawing on a short article written by Andy Bannister of Solas, and then offer six different options. The first five do not appeal to God, the sixth appeals to the uniquely Christian doctrine of the image of God (imago Dei) and reflects what is, in my view, the only sure option for securing the absolute and inalienable rights of every human being.
